Barbecue
|
Its the usual routine for me, told the wife I wanted a bbq tomorrow, she immediately complained about having to have people over and make salads etc.
I keep trying to explain to her that its just grilling some meat over some hot coals and its NOT a party. Any of you have this ridiculousness?
Barbecue has to be COAL, if you want gas, use your cooker.
Has to be sausages first, because the fat from the sausies makes the coals burn better. Chicken and fish has to be last and wrapped in foil for the first half hour. When the coals have died down, time to chuck some bananas in their skins on.
You cunts?

Why do you need to barbecue?
Don't you have an oven?

You bbq bananas?
I must say, I've not tried that, but then we do our bbq's without any of that new age, airy-fairy, hipster bullshit down here.

Oh.
I like standing. Do you make folk sit at your BBQs?

They don't even make sit-down bbq's do they?
Unless you mean the disposable ones.

TOMS, I stand, I spend most of my time standing as I have an umbilical hernia that is more comfy standing than sitting.

I suppose they'll taste like bananas, just hot.
I don't think there's some secret culinary wonder you've discovered.

Baggins, course you can.
I only serve beer, wine and lemonade though. Although I've got some ginger cognac somewhere for you to celebrate gay pride day.
Best BBQ I ever went to was in Ukraine, the old man brought a big black bin liner full of pork. He'd killed the pig the day before and chopped the legs and shoulder up into massive chunks and soaked them in white wine vinegar and white pepper overnight. The pieces of meat were enormous and probably the tasties thing I have ever eaten.
We stood.

That pork sounds sublime, rios.
No need to ruin it by following up with a hot banana. No need at all.

The kids like them though, tend to serve the bananas on ice cream for them.

Best bbq I've ever had, other than my own, was in Brazil.
Massive hunk of beef, coated in rock salt and bbq'd for am hour or so. Then the outside layer sliced off and more rock salt coated, and bbq'd for another hour, then repeated perhaps once more. Very tasty.
Personally, I prefer my own recipe rack of ribs, but that was a close second.

I'm IN, rios, son!
No need for the cognac , I'll celebrate gay pride by turning up dressed as one of the village people.
